The adoption fee will vary depending on the age and status of the Kitten.
Upon adoption:
All kittens will have initial care (vet exam, deworming, earmite and flea treatment, if needed).
Kittens adopted under 12 weeks of age will have a scheduled appointment at Animal Protection League (APL) to be spayed or neutered. Appointment will be first available in either Lindale, Big Sandy or Longview. The Adopter must take kitten get rabies shots at an APL or SPCA clinic and must take kitten to the scheduled sterilzation appointment and provide proof of the procedure upon completion OR adopt kitten at a discounted fee with the agreement to have rabies shot completed at their own cost by 16 weeks old AND spaying/neutering completed at their own cost by 24 weeks old.
Kittens over 24 weeks old upon arrival will be scheduled for spaying or neutering but the appointment may be several months out, due to APL availability. Adopter can choose either wait until kitten has been spayed or neutered OR adopt kitten at a discounted fee with the agreement to have spaying or neutering completed at their own vet and at their own cost, which must be completed within 30 days of adoption date.
Baby kittens: Adopter can sponsor the kitten and pay for all costs associated but have Trailer Katz Rescue, Inc. care for the kitten until a specific age. You can add additional services like monthly revolution treatments, a FeLV/FIV test, and microchipping at your own cost.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have valid ID, have permission from landlord (if renting), and all adults in the home must agree to adopt said kitty. A home visit may be necessary before finalizing the adoption to ensure a safe and loving environment.
- Adopted kitties must live indoors at least 50% of the time.
- All animals (of same kind) in Adopter's home must be sterilized and have current rabies shots.
